Dropping Off and Picking Up Students

• Drop off – 1 minute drop off zone in front of school on 13th Ave NW
• Park and wait – 9th Street NW
• Staff Parking Lot – staff only, do not park or drop off students here (safety) 

In order to avoid potentially dangerous situations:

• Use the crosswalks!
• Do not use the school parking lot to drop off/pick up students
• Students use designated doors to enter and exit the school
• Do not pick up or drop off students, stop, or park in the alley as it is not safe for students
• Do not jaywalk to get your child to school on time - take your time coming in when late (it happens to all of us) and know your child is not in trouble, we welcome all students when they arrive with a smile to celebrate that they made it to school.
  o    Parents may get a note home if late arrivals interrupt learning time
  o    If there is a pattern of arriving late we can work together with you and your child to help
• Keep pets on the sidewalk and not on the field – there is a City of Calgary bylaw keeping pets off of school fields (keeping them clean and safe for our students who play here) 

Outside teacher supervisions start at 8:15am. Do not drop off children prior to 8:15am. Students wait outside the school until the entry bell rings at 8:25am and the second bell rings at 8:30am as classes begin. 

Parents should ensure that their youngster is dressed for weather conditions. Everyone is expected to remove wet, muddy footwear upon entering the school or ensure that outdoor footwear is dry before proceeding through the building. Parents picking up students after school are expected to do so within a reasonable period of time following dismissal time.
